State House will Tuesday host a health summit aimed at showcasing the government’s success.

The meeting, which will bring stakeholders in health and the media together, will seek to clear the air on the state of health care in the country.

“It is particularly important for media as well, so that when you hear lies being bandied out there about the performance of this administration, you can fact-check,” said a statement from State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu.

The summit comes a week after ODM leader Raila Odinga accused the government of campaigning at the expense of delivering on their promises.

“It is time the Jubilee government told Kenyans their performance record. They have forgotten the 2013 election promises and are now busy unveiling the 2017 promises,” he said in Kakamega last week.

The summit will discuss the state of managed equipment services programme, which was meant to improve health care management in the country.

“They have developed a new tactic of holding sectorial summits at State House every week to discuss blue prints,” the ODM leader said.

On the agenda will be access to health care, communicable and non-communicable diseases and maternal and child health and the Free Maternity programme.
