DECEASED HID TO AVOID PAYING AIRFARE

The deceased passenger was found at the rear of the plane where it is believed he was hiding to avoid paying airfare.

There are currently no provisions for people who die inflight.

In June last year, Kenya Airways refunded a Swedish journalist half her air ticket money (USD 713) after she was forced to fly next to a dead man.

Lena Pettersson, a journalist with Sveriges Radio (SR) was on board the flight to Dar es salaam, Tanzania.

The deceased passenger developed complications just after take-off, was sweating and had a cramp.

First aid was ministered but he later died, forcing the journalist to sit next to dead passenger for the rest of the overnight flight.
