Mr Athumani and Mr Macharia face additional charges of causing grievous harm to Mr Justus Makau Mulwa and Mr Patrick Ndolo Kinyingi when they detonated a grenade at OTC bus stage on October 24.
They were also charged with being in possession of firearms, live hand grenades and 717 assorted ammunitions on October 25 at a house in Kayole estate.
The two first appeared in court last week and were remanded to enable police complete investigations.
Their second plea to be granted bail failed after the prosecution told the court that police have uncovered crucial leads in the investigations which will enable them arrest more suspects.
