Two detained for 14 days over Baringo killings

Two suspects linked to the murder of Loyamorok MCA Fredrick Cheretei and parliamentary aspirant Symon Kitambaa will be detained for 14 days pending investigations.
A court ordered the two, Titus Longor Tuwot and former chief Lomotongole Joshua Yatta to be detained at Kabarnet Police Station.
The two are facing charges of plotting the murder of the two politicians between February 10 and 18 this year. The two politicians were killed at T-Junction bar in Marigat.
In a sworn affidavit presented to a Kabarnet magistrate, Sergeant Tobias Mwita of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation said investigations into the killings are not yet over.
Kabarnet Resident Magistrate Ezra Ayuka allowed the application and directed the case be mentioned on March 20.
The suspects were later whisked away in a police vehicle under tight security.
The two politicians from Tiaty Sub-County were shot dead by hooded gunmen at the club in Marigat town, Baringo south three weeks ago.
A vehicle belonging to the MCA was also torched and the other for the parliamentary aspirant had the windscreen shattered.
