The Public Service Commission (PSC) will within one forward to President Uhuru Kenyatta the names of three candidates from whom he will pick the new EACC chairman.

The PSC, in a statement on Friday, said it will deliberate on the names for a week before forwarding them to the President.

The three names will be picked from six candidates interviewed, including retired Anglican Archbishop Eliud Wabukala, former Agricultural Development Corporation managing director William Kipkemboi, Philemon Mwaisaka, who served on the defunct Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution, and former inspector-general of State corporations Peter Bita Ondieki.

Others are Rose Bosibori Osoro, who is on the Commission on Revenue Allocation, and Erastus Iguna Rweria.

"The Commission wishes to notify the general public that it will, within seven days, deliberate on the performance of the candidates and recommend three persons to the President for consideration for appointment," said PSC secretary and CEO Alice Otwala.
