Bridge pupils excel in KCPE exams

Pupils from Bridge International Academies, who did their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams, performed exceptionally well, results released Monday show.

According to the results, several candidates scored 400 marks and above, making them eligible to join elite national secondary schools with hundreds scoring over 350 marks.

Bridge had nearly 4,000 candidates sitting the examination, the highest number ever.

Some of the top performers scoring over 400 marks came from Nairobi, Lamu, Kilifi, Kajiado among other counties.

An excited 13 year old Juarez Victoria Mara from Bridge, Lamu was ecstatic after finding out she scored 403 marks.

“My teachers have been understanding and supportive, I am happy I have made them proud with a great score. Now I want all girls in my community to go to school and succeed like me. I want girls from my community to know that you can excel in school if work hard,” she said.

Kalii Meshack Mutinda from Bridge, Gichagi, who is 13 years old was extremely happy after scoring 420 marks.

“I am so happy, all my hard work has paid off. I have studied hard with the help of my caring teachers and now I hope this is an inspiration to all the children from Gicagi that they too can do well,” he said.

Bridge International Academies’ Schools Director in Kenya Reuben Wambugu said : “The results look positive for Bridge pupils for the 4th year running. We already have pupils scoring over 400 and 350 marks. We're excited at what strong results mean for the pupils and their communities with many making it to the top high schools due to their top scores. It is encouraging to see the president’s commitment that all pupils will transition to secondary school.”
