The Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission has been asked to investigate who paid for a statement in daily newspapers signed by head of the civil service Francis Muthaura.

The advert bore the Coat of Arms and defended Mr Muthaura after he was named among the Ocampo Six on Thursday.

Mr Ndung’u Wainaina from the International Centre for Policy and Conflict said it would be abuse of office to put up such announcements on public funds.

“The accusations facing Muthaura are on his person and not on the office he is occupying,” said Mr Wainaina.

He also faulted MPs for seeking to compel the government to withdraw from the Rome Statute.

“Our legislators want to subvert the rule of law and are pursuing a contrary agenda to rendering justice,” he said
