The fate of Embu Governor Martin Wambora will be known today after investigations of a Senate committee into his ouster ended on Thursday.

The team led by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is set to table its report before the House at 4pm.

Its findings will be considered by the senators and a vote will be taken afterwards.

If more than half of the senators adopt the report, Mr Wambora will lose his seat. However, the governor has challenged his ouster in court.

WERE IMPEACHED

Mr Wambora and his deputy Dorothy Nditi were impeached by the County Assembly on January 28 after being accused of abuse of office and violating the Constitution, among others. They have denied the charges.

Ms Nditi has distanced herself from Mr Wambora’s office, saying, she had not been assigned any significant duties in the last 10 months she has been in office.

She claimed her requests for work from Mr Wambora had not been successful. The County Assembly had accused her of complicity in the breach of law.
