A university teacher was on Thursday charged with creating a disturbance by attempting to take a photograph of a nun without her consent.
Mr Gatune Mwaura Kingstone of the University of Nairobi, allegedly tried to take pictures of Sister Josephine Warau Kariuki, a teacher at Our Lady of Peace School at a post office in Karen.
The lecturer denied the charge before Kibera principal magistrate Fridah Nyakundi.
The court heard that the nun had gone to the post office on September 23, 2011 to pay her bills when she met Mr Mwaura, who had a camera.
He allegedly started taking photographs of her against her wish. She ran into the post office but he allegedly followed her.
The court heard that his behaviour disrupted business at the post office, resulting in his arrest.
Mr Mwaura was freed on Sh10,000 bail until October 31 when the case will be heard.
