Directors of a land buying firm in Kiambu have asked police to intensify investigations into attacks against some of them.
Mbo-I Kamiti Farmers Limited vice-chairman Gabriel Njure said some officials of the land company had either been killed or injured in recent attacks.
Last Thursday, the chairman, Dr Thuo Mathenge, was shot and injured at his Limuru home.
“We are living in fear and we want police to establish who is behind them,” he said.
Was shot dead
Company treasurer James Ngamau was shot dead in January.
“Mr Ngamua was shot dead in broad daylight. Nothing was taken from him and we fear these are planned executions,” he said.
Mbo-I Kamiti has for years been mired in controversy over ownership of parcels of land, with several cases being filed in the courts.
Police in Kiambu on Tuesday said they were investigating Dr Mathenge’s shooting.
Kiambu West police boss Joshua Opiyo said Dr Mathenge had told them he suspected the attack was an execution attempt.
“We have not been able to get a clear lead but we have intensified investigations,” he said.
