AFC Leopards coach Patrick Naggi leaves next month for an advanced coaching course in Brazil.

A harambee to raise funds to help the coach meet some of his expenses for the privately-sponsored one-year course will be held tomorrow at the Marble Arch Hotel.

Leopards secretary Antony Walela said Naggi was not sacked but was simply being released to pursue the coaching course.

He added the club executive had given Naggi a study leave and will give him all the support possible.

"All members of the executive are expected at the harambee to raise to money for the coach," he said, adding that midfielder Tom Juma, who has been Naggi's assistant, will now be in charge of the team.

Naggi joined Leopards last year after the departure of Martin Ndagano.

As team manager, he had a frosty relationship with Fleming Jacobsen when the Dane returned to the defending champions' technical bench.

Jacobsen accused Naggi of interfering with his coaching duties and soon returned to Shabana.

Naggi leaves Leopards at a time when his popularity with the fans is at it's lowest. Last weekend, he was roughed up by angry fans after Leopards were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-bound Red Berets at the Thika Municipal Stadium.
