Peerless Hart smashes two Kenya records

Ivan Hart of Mombasa Aquatics SC starred during the first day of Coast Amateur Swimming Association (CASA) Inter-Clubs Swimming Championship when he set two national records at Aga Khan Academy on Saturday.

Eleven-year-old Hart, a student at Aga Khan Academy, utilised his school pool well to establish a new national mark in the boys 10-11 years 400 metres freestyle when he clocked four minutes 55.97 seconds to erase his own previous time of 5:08.25 he set on December 9 last year.

Hart was followed home by two schools mates Sathyam Gohil who returned 5:49.46 and Joshua Masakha who finished in 6:13.18.

An hour later, Hart broke the boys 110-11 years 200m individual medley record when he finished in a new time of 2:45.03, erasing the previous time of 2:49,81 held by Thomas Tabuka since May 30, 2015.
