Hart had on Friday set two national records. He went for boys’ 10-11 in 200m long course butterfly new record, clocking 2:56.84 to erase the previous time of 3:04.59 set by Mohammed Jiwa in 2008.

He also swam 2:2.64 in the 200m individual medley to break Thomas Tabuka’s previous time of 2:54.33 set in 2015.

Hart set two new records in his age group in timed splits during the boys 14 and under 1500m freestyle event. At the 800m mark, Hart clocked 10:53.44 to beat the previous record of 11:39.82 set in 2010 by Mateo Rosafio.

Hart might have finished third in the 1500m event, but his time of 20:35.29 was enough to break the previous record of 22:58.80 set in 2013 by Kabir Bedi in 10-11 age group.

The three days competition that ends Sunday is being used to select the team for Gold Coast Commonwealth Games due April 4 to 15 in Australia and Cana Zone IV Championships planned for March 21-23 in Lilongwe, Malawi.
