Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline on Saturday rounded off their preliminary matches with convincing wins to top their pools at the Women's Africa Club volleyball Championship in Egypt.

Prions secured a 3-0 sets (25-16,25-17,25-14 triumph over Cameroon's INJS in pool D as Pipeline also beat another Cameroonian side FAP 3-0 sets (25-12, 25-16, 25-16) in their final pool C match.

It was the Kenyan clubs' fourth triumph in as many games at the continental competition.

The two sides had already qualified for the knock-out stage of the competition on Thursday upon winning their first three games in their respective pools.

The result means the two sides will avoid each other in the quarterfinal stage of the competition.

"We have enjoyed a good run in the competition so far and are now looking forward to the quarters on Monday. Our target remains to win the cup," said Prisons coach David Lung'aho.

"All the results in our group have been excellent and I must compliment my teammates for the good performance. Our hope is that we continue to improve in the quarters and we are going to do our best," Edith Wisa, who is the team's main blocker, added.

Lung'aho commenced this match against the powerful West Africans with his strongest line-up available, which consists setter Joy Luseneka - who is standing in for the absent Jane Wacu - plus Kwanthanze alumni Emmaculate Chemtai, captain Mercy Moim, former French based star Everlyne Makuto, Wisa, Lorine chebet and experienced libero Elizabeth Wanyama.

Prisons other victories in this tournament came against Nigeria Customs Club 3-0( 25-10,25-15, 25-15), Cote d'Ivorie's Asec Mimosas 3-0 sets (25-7,25-17,25-12)and Burundi's DOUANES 3-1(25-15,25-5,23-25,25-11).

Pipeline meanwhile defeated hosts El Shams 3-0 sets ( 25-23,25-22,25-22) in their opening fixture, and followed this result up with a similar straight set victory of 25-6,25-10,25-13 over Democratic Republic of Congo's DGSP.

In their other group D game, Pipeline dropped a set against Vision Club, but still managed a comfortable 3-1 (25-7, 24-26, 25-13,25-15) win over the Ugandans.

Sunday is rest day.
