Kitur wins Prague Marathon, Rupp stars in men's race

Kenya's Bornes Jepkirui Kitur obliterated the field to win the women's Prague Marathon in a personal best of 2:24:19 in the Czech capital on Sunday.

Kitur, winner of the 2017 Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, beat Ethiopia's duo of Belaynesh Oljira and Amane Gobena to second and third places respectively.

Oljira was 55 seconds behind Kitur in 2:25.13 with Gobena over two minutes behind the winner.

In the men's race, Kenya's Stephen Chemlany finished third after timing 2:09.42 behind winner Galen Rupp of the USA and Ethiopia's Sisay Lemma (2:07.07).

Pre-race favourite Barselius Kipyego was fourth in 2:10.18. Rupp won the Prague Marathon in a new PB of 2:06:07, barely three weeks after dropping out of the Boston Marathon.
