It was a brothers act as the 2015 World 400m hurdles champion Nicholas Bett beat his brother Harun Koech to win men's 400m hurdles final during the Commonwealth Games trials on Saturday at Kasarani.
Bett devoured the field that also had Olympic 400m hurdles silver medallist Boniface Mucheru, clocking 49.14 seconds to triumph.
Koech, who is also the National champion, came in second in 50.68 as Willy Mbevi edged out Mucheru to third place in 51.01.
Mucheru finished fourth in 51.04 to miss out.
"I am definitely going for gold. I have fully recovered and my training in South Africa for two months has helped shape me well," said Bett, adding that he has regained his confidence. "My technique over the hurdles especially my right leg approach is good."
