More than 100 players from a record-equalling 42 countries will line up for the 2018-2019 NBA season which starts later Tuesday, a tally of official figures revealed.

NBA figures showed that 108 international players are spread across the league's 30 teams, marking the fifth consecutive season where more than 100 overseas players have begun the campaign.

All 30 teams have at least one international player, with the Dallas Mavericks having the largest foreign legion with seven international players, ahead of the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers (six).

Canada contributes the largest number of foreign players with 11, with Australia and France second with nine each.
