Gymkhana stun Swamibapa to storm Nairobi T20 final

Nairobi Gymkhana will face off with Kanbis in the final of the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) Super Division Twenty20 at Sikh Union ground on Sunday.

Gymkhana reached the final on Saturday when they beat pre-match favourites Swamibapa by four wickets at Sikh Union ground.

Batting first, Swamibapa set a target of 145 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted overs. Irfan Karim top scored for Swamibapa with a century; 50 that came off 46 deliveries with three boundaries and a six.

Morris Ouma (38 off 25 balls with two boundaries and same number of sixes), Alex Obanda (12 off 11balls with two boundaries) and Naman Patel (11 off nine balls with two boundaries) were the only other Swamibapa batsmen who posted double digits on the scoreboard.

Gymkhana wickets were shared among Martin Okoth (2/25), Amish Amin (2/31), Raj Savala (2/30) and Lucas Oluoch (1/15)

In reply, Gymkhana scored 147 with two balls of their allotted overs and four wickets in hand. Rushab Patel (27 off 29 balls with a boundary and two sixes) and Kavi Dosaja (27 off 17 balls with a boundary and two sixes) both top scored for Gymkhana.

Dominic Wesonga (25 off 17 balls with three boundaries), Siddarthasinh Vijaysinh, who was unbeaten on 24 that came off 16 balls with two boundaries and Harshvardhan Patel, who was also unbeaten on 24 that came off 16 balls with two boundaries were Gymkhana’s batsmen who did well with the bat. Siddarthasinh and Harshvardhan shared a winning seventh wicket partnership of 41 runs.

Jignesh Hirani was Gymkhana's main executor taking four wickets for 32. Jadavhi Bhimji (1/18) was the other wicket taker.
