Ruaraka on Sunday shone with bat and ball in their Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) Twenty20 Super Division league match against hosts Cutchi Leva, beating them by 77 runs at Samaj School in Nairobi West.

Batting first, Ruaraka set a target of 153 for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted overs. Aniket Manoj (49 off 40 balls with eight boundaries and a six) top scored for Ruaraka.

Harshit Vekaria (41 off 32 balls with two boundaries and three sixes), Chandrakesh Hiran (24 off 19 balls with two boundaries and a six), Mehal Ashani (12 off nine balls with a six) and Prankaj Bhandari (10 off nine balls with a six) were Ruaraka’s main runs getters.

Kishore Bhandari was Ruaraka’s main executioner with four wickets for 24. Harish Varsani (2/18) and Diven Varsani (1/30) were the other wicket takers.

In reply, Cutchi Leva was dismissed for a paltry 75 with four wickets in hand. Batsmen failed to cope with Ruaraka’s stiff bowling and tight fielding and wickets fell at a more regular interval without meaningful runs showing on the scoreboard.

Rinkesh Vekaria (3/3) and Purshotam Vekariya (3/10) were Cutchi Leva’s main destroyers. Harshit Vekaria (2/13) and Hiran Vekaria (1/13) were the other wicket takers.
