Former AFC Leopards skipper set for Champions League bow

Former AFC Leopards captain Duncan Otieno has been drafted in Zambian giants Nkana’s 25-man squad for the 2018/19 Caf Champions League.

Otieno joined the Ndola based side on a two year deal last month after successful trials.

The Kenyan international joins compatriot Musa Mohammed who has since cemented his place in the team since joining the club in June from Albanian side FK Tirana.

Nkana, who finished second in the 20-team Zambian Super League last season, will feature in the first tier Africa club competition alongside champions Zesco United.

Zesco is home to Kenyan trio David “Calabar” Owino, Anthony Akumu and Jesse Were.

Green Buffaloes and Green Eagles, will play in the second tier tournament, the Caf Confederation Cup.

Nkana successful registered the players before the Thursday deadline ahead of the preliminary round draw to be held in Rabat, Morocco on Saturday.

All clubs will have an opportunity to register more players in January 2019 if they go past the group stage.
