Second half strikes from Nigerian Alex Orotomal and Ezekiel Odera is all AFC Leopards needed to down relegation-threatened Thika United 2-0 in a SportPesa Premier League clash at Thika Stadium on Saturday.

Victory ensures Leopards remain third on the table with 48 points similar to Bandari - who are not in action this weekend and 17 below runaway leaders Gor Mahia.

Thika, who suffered their 11th defeat in 20 meetings against Ingwe, remain bottom of the table with 20 points after 27 rounds.

At Camp Toyoyo grounds, Joe Waithira scored a brace before substitutes Kelvin Thairu and John Avirre joined the party with a goal apiece as Nakumatt humiliated limping Mathare United 4-0.

In Bungoma, Sofapaka rallied to draw 2-2 with Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium to remain fourth on the table with 44 points.

Nzoia’s Collins Wakhungu cancelled Yussuf Mohammed’s opener before Patrick Kwitonda fired the Nicholas Muyoti-coached outfit to a 2-1 lead at half time but Stephen Waruru’s second half strike ensured Batoto ba Mungu collect a point on the road.

Back in Thika, Ingwe, coming off a 4-2 win over Nakumatt last Sunday, started brightly but were forced to make an early change after winger Jafari Owiti was injured at the half hour mark with Vincent Oburu replacing him.

After a goalless opening stanza, Orotomal, who replaced Edward Seda in the 57th minute completed Brian Marita’s neat pass.
