George Abege will be out to prove a point as he prepares for a second bow in the Caf Confederation Cup with SportPesa Shield winners Kariobangi Sharks.

Abege, who featured in the same competition with Bandari in 2016, has welcomed another opportunity eyeing better performances this time round. Bandari fell to DR Congo's St Eloi Lupopo at the first hurdle on a 3-1 aggregate score.

“I feel good winning the cup for the second time in Kenya and in terms of club history, being part of this set of players that won the first major trophy for the team.

“We’ve ended this season on a high because of determination and never-say-die spirit, this is a moral booster ahead of next season,” he told Nation Sport.

“Continental opponents are a little bit tougher than the teams we are facing back here, we need to prepare ourselves mentally both on and off the pitch. Hopefully we will be ready for it,” he added.

The 30-year-old joined Sharks in the June transfer window from Sony Sugar. He played a vital role in the club’s domestic cup campaign proving a worthy replacement of Kenyan international Masud Juma.
