Ghana’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton has urged Asante Kotoko to avenge their national team's defeat to Harambee Stars when they take on Kariobangi Sharks in a Caf Confederation Cup fixture on Saturday at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Ghana were shocked 1-0 by Kenya in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Group “F” qualifier at Kasarani stadium on September 8.

“Let me tell you one thing, the last time a Ghanaian team came here, we lost the game,” Odunton is quoted on the club portal, as she welcomed them in town on Wednesday.

She added: “This is the second Ghanaian team to come here in a year and I am here to demand revenge for Ghana, I know we are here to win and on Saturday, we will be there to support you.”

She further urged the team to forget about the alleged mistreatment and focus on the game.

Kotoko protested after being accorded what they claimed was a substandard 25-seater coaster and a poor training ground in Goan Institute in Pangani.

They are however set to feel the match venue on Friday evening.

“I’ve heard about some of the challenges you are facing but as your leadership told me earlier, you’ve risen above that, just look beyond it and be focused,” she concluded.
