Bandari FC’s winless run stretched to three matches after battling to yet another 0-0 draw with visiting Posta Rangers in a closely contested SportPesa Premier League encounter at Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday.

The visitor’s Kennedy Otieno squandered the best chance of the match in the 55th minute as Bandari settled for a second successive barren draw after their scoreless match against Mathare United at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos last weekend.

Otieno received a fine cross from Luis Tera but with only Bandari goalkeeper Faruk Shikhalo to beat, he headed wide to the shock of Posta’s bench.

Bandari’s best opportunity arrived in the 72nd minute when Abdalla Hassan dribbled past his marker on the right wing and crossed to Wycliffe Ochomo, but the former Congo United striker watched in agony as his shot brushed the post then rolled off target.

Indeed, it was Rangers who created more chances especially in the second half when they pinned their opponents in their territory for most of the period.

Bandari head coach Ken Odhiambo said he was impressed with the players fighting spirit since they lost their match against Tusker two weeks ago at the same venue.

“We’ve not conceded any goal in our last two matches but on the other hand, we’ve not scored any goal in our last three matches. I’m now going to work on scoring and keeping the ball,” said Odhiambo.

His Rangers counterpart Sammy Omollo said they came to Mombasa with a lot of pressure having lost their previous game against Nzoia Sugar.

“I’m happy having dominated the midfield battle. We also deserved to win this match because most of the second half belonged to us,” said Omollo.
