Bidco refine promotion bid, AllStars woes continue

Bidco United over the weekend announced their intentions of grabbing one of the two automatic promotion slots to the Kenyan Premier League after moving to the summit of the second tier.

Bidco, under former Posta Rangers and KCB coach Leonard Saleh, beat Administration Police 2-0 on Saturday to go top of the 19-team National Super League log on 14 points - similar to Western Stima and Kibera Black Stars - who come second and third respectively but with an inferior goal difference.

“This is a team that has been in the second tier for years. We are aiming to make a step higher at the end of the year even though the race is still open but winning is what will count at the end of the day,” Saleh told Nation Sport.

“When I came in, I made a few changes in terms of tactical approach to matches and encouraging players on the significance of giving their best on the pitch.”

“If officiating is fair in all matches, then we stand a high chance because that’s what has been letting us down especially when playing on the road. We are in Kisumu next weekend we hope the officials will do their job.”

At the bottom of the standings, two-time Kenyan champions Nakuru AllStars remained winless in seven matches after losing 1-0 to debutantes Kisumu AllStars Sunday.

POOR RUN

AllStars have soaked in 15 goals, scoring just two in the process.

“The team’s preparations for matches are in shambles. The players aren’t sure of their future because nobody knows who the real managers are,” a source who sought anonymity told Nation Sport.

Meanwhile, Kakamega High School’s Green Commandoes notched their maiden win in the NSL after routing Isibania 4-1.
