Bidco and Stima win, Police halt Black Stars charge

Bidco United and Western Stima won their respective matches to move joint top of the National Super League (NSL) table in round seven games played on Saturday.
The Leonard Saleh-led Bidco hit visiting Administration Police 2-0 in an early kick-off match at the Thika Sub-County Stadium while goalkeeper Samuel Odhiambo’s 53rd minute penalty helped Stima to a narrow 1-0 win over Golden Field Evangelism (GFE) at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma County.
In Nairobi’s Camp Toyoyo grounds, Kibera Black Stars played out to a 1-1 draw with Kenya Police, a tie preceded by Nairobi Stima and Modern Coast Rangers that ended 2-2. Bidco now lead the 19-team table on 14 points similar to Stima and Black Stars but have a superior goal difference.
Elsewhere in Mombasa, debutantes Coast Stima handed Ken Kenyatta’s Ushuru a football lesson, thumping the visitors 3-0 at Mbaraki Sports Club.
Yusuf Eme opened the scoring in the 20th minute for a 1-0 lead at the break before Rodgers Okoth doubled their advantage three minutes into the second half.
Former Bandari, Chemelil Sugar and Western Stima forward Alfred Maningi converted a 62nd minute penalty to put the scoreline beyond doubt.
“The players did their best and we will continue to fight together,” a dejected Ushuru coach Ken Kenyatta said after the match.
