Kenya's protest against Equatorial Guinea for fielding an ineligible player in their Africa Women Cup of Nations (Awcon) qualifier in June will be submitted to the Confederation of African Football (Caf) Disciplinary Board in Cairo this Saturday.

Harambee Starlets are still hopeful of winning a protest against Equatorial Guinea that could see them return to the continental finals slated for November 2018.

Starlets lost to the two-time holders 3-2 on aggregate on June 9 but reported the Nzalang Nacional to Caf for fielding an ineligible player in Celestina Manga Besecu who according to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is Cameroonian and her real name is Fadimatou Veronique Nsongone.

FKF filed a protest that was deemed valid by the continental football governing body after receiving Shs200,000 as protest fee.

“Kindly note that the matter will be submitted to the Disciplinary Board during their next meeting taking place on the 8th of September, 2018,” read a letter from Caf dated August 29, 2018 and signed by the body’s General Secretary Amr Fahmy.

Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Zambia, Cameroon, Mali, Nigeria and Algeria qualified for the continental showpiece that was scheduled for Ghana but reports of the West Africans being stripped off the hosting rights has left the tourney with no host.
