Buoyant AFC Leopards host FOSA Juniors at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega on Sunday from 3pm in their Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg fixture.

A confident Leopards coach Robert Matano on Saturday said his players have done enough preparation to do the job against Juniors.

Matano said that apart from going for a win, they would also aim to play entertaining football in front of the anticipated 20,000 fans at Bukhungu.

“We have had a good week of training. The players have undertaken various types of training and are physically and mentally fit for the big day tomorrow (Sunday),” he told reporters at Siaya Guest Hotel in Kakamega where Ingwe are putting up.

Leopards, who are making a return to continental football after four years, will certainly be buoyed by the return of forward Vincent Oburu who had been in Czech Republic attending trials with FC Slovacko.

Oburu joined the senior Ingwe from the team’s under-20 side in 2016.

Skipper Duncan Otieno will marshal an expected four-man defence that should also include Dennis Sikhayi and intelligent playing left-back Ghanaian Isaac Oduro.

Ingwe’s attack will feature Ghanaian Papa Prince Arkoh and Baker Lukooya.

Internationally capped Collins “Gattuso” Okoth will be the main man in midfield for Ingwe.

ATTACK ORIENTED

Leopards should expect an attack oriented Juniors.

The visitors’ lead striker Herisoa Andriamamony said nothing would stop him from achieving his ambition of delivering victory for his side in Kenya.

FOSA Junior coach Bob Kootwijk described Andriamamony as a gifted player who can easily exchange positions up front depending on the game of their opponents.

Anriamamony will team up with Yvon Razafindrakoto in the hunt for goals.
