Gor Mahia duo jets out for Albanian sojourn

Gor Mahia defender Musa Mohammed and midfielder Kenneth Muguna have finally been cleared to join Albanian second division side KF Tirana.

Nation Sport understands the two players’ International Transfer Certificates (ITC) were delivered on Thursday and the two left the country early Saturday morning to Antalya, Turkey to link up with the rest of the squad currently on a week-long midseason camp.

Tirana, led by former Gor coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira "Ze Maria", is contesting for a return to Albanian top flight in the 2018/19 season.

After suffering relegation for the first time in their history last season, the team has reinforced and is now seven points at the helm of second division’s Group B table with 31 points.

“I look forward to doing my best and help Tirana achieve its objectives. I have heard about the club from Kenyan players who have featured their before," said Muguna, who penned a four-year deal with the side.

“I am focused to give my best because it can open more doors.”

The 2016 Kenyan Premier League’s Most Valuable Player transfer will see Gor pocket Sh4.1 million by January 31 as per the agreement signed between the two parties on December 7.

“The new club shall pay the former club a net transfer fee of USD40,000 in one instalment, within 14 days of the new club receiving the ITC of the player," the agreement, seen by Nation Sport, states.

Musa joins on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract on January 14.
