The Kenyan football fraternity on Friday evening joined the family of one of Kenya's finest strikers of all-time Dennis Oliech in mourning following the passing on of his mother, Mary Auma Oliech.

Mama Oliech, as she is popularly known, has been battling cancer for the last five years and breathed her last at her home in Lavington, Nairobi.

Oliech’s elder brother and manager Nickson Onywanda, was late Friday quoted by a section of the media confirming his mother’s death.

He also revealed the body has been moved to Umash Funeral Home.

"On my own behalf and that of the entire football fraternity, I would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dennis ‘the Menace’ Oliech, following the untimely passing on of Mama Mary Auma. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the entire family, during these trying times. Mama has gone in our sight but never from our hearts," tweeted Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa.
