Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) coach Frank Ouna has rued missed chances in their one-all draw against Vihiga United in a SportPesa Premier League clash at the Kenyatta stadium, Machakos on Saturday.

Ouna believes they should have bagged maximum points against an opponent who looked fatigued having travelled late for the match.

The bankers finished the match with a man down after Rwandese defender Gabriel Mugabo was sent off for a second bookable offence on 63 minutes.

“I am disappointed because this was a home game, we should’ve killed the game in the first 20-30 minutes had we utilized our chances,” said Ouna.

“These are two dropped points, we started the game very well creating many chances. Knowing the opponents had travelled overnight, I think we should’ve taken our chances but it’s something we shall work on ahead of the next match,” added Ouna whose side came out of the relegation zone for the first time this season sitting 17th on six points.

KCB visit Western Stima on Wednesday for a midweek fixture.

Vihiga coach Mike Mururi was contented with a point but insists they would have done better had they travelled on time.

The Vihiga-based side delayed to leave their base for the trip to Machakos due to lack of funds.

“We arrived at 4.30am but we managed to fight on for a point, I congratulate my boys for a job well done, had we travelled earlier, maybe the result could’ve been different because we created scoring chances too,” noted the former Kenyan international.

Vihiga, who host Nzoia Sugar in midweek, are ranked 13th on eight points from as many matches.
