Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) was held to a one-all draw by visiting Vihiga United in a SportPesa Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

Shami Kibwana's seventh minute strike was cancelled out by Steven Wakhanya on 32 minutes before the bankers were reduced to 10 men on 63 minutes after Gabriel Mugabo was sent off for a second bookable offence.

KCB's third draw this campaign takes their tally to six points, two behind Vihiga United after eight rounds.

Both teams observed a minute of silence before kick-off in honour of Tuesday's 14 Riverside Drive attack victims where at least 21 people lost their lives including local football fan James Oduor alias Cobra.

Kevin Muhanji's long range shot from outside the box hit the crossbar with KCB custodian Zamu Adisa left gazing early. On 14 minutes, Muhanji dribbled past his markers to create some acres of space that allowed him to shoot from the edge box only for Adisa to parry it out for a fruitless corner.

Vihiga's persistence was rewarded with an equaliser on 32 minutes after Wakhanya's pile driver from 20 yards sailed into the right corner with Adisa caught napping.

On 49 minutes, Dennis Ng'ang'a curved in a corner kick but Bernard Ochieng cleared it off the line with a header.

Benson Amianda failed to give KCB the lead once again after miscalculating Bethuel Warambo's cross that went begging with the goal at his mercy.

The bankers were reduced to 10 men on 63 minutes after Rwandese Mugabo was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Substitute Ezekiel Odera, who the replaced off colour Amianda on 70 minutes, brought some life into their attack but Vihiga backline stood tall to ensure they walk away with a point.
