Gor Mahia fans on Saturday had a rare chance of posing with the SportPesa Premier League title, won by their club for a record 17th time early last month, during a meet and greet tour in various parts of the capital on Saturday.
The tour started in Kibra Slums where the trophy was displayed with children and fans taking turns to pose with the glittering silverware.
Kengeles Lavington restaurant, was the next stop and here the restaurant manager, a diehard AFC Leopards fan, could not resist the allure of taking a photo with the trophy.
Parklands Sports Club, the new training ground of the club, also gave their members an opportunity to bask in Gor Mahia's achievements this season.
Led by coach Dylan Kerr, the entourage proceeded to the city centre where fans painted Tom Mboya Street green as they paid homage to club founder Tom Mboya singing victory songs at his immaculate bronze statue.
Nine-year-old Gian Mutugi and his younger brother David Mwiti from Meru County were caught in the song and dance that culminated in the trophy being placed at the feet of Mboya's sculpture - a gesture believed it was meant to honour the man who started the club 50 years ago.
The tour is set to continue to Eastlands, Nairobi while the club explores possibilities of parading the trophy in other counties.
