Gor Mahia will be looking to go back top of the Kenyan Premier League table when they face debutants Kisumu All Stars today at Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Sunday.

In other matches, Ulinzi Stars welcome Zoo Kericho at Afraha Stadium while AFC Leopards take on Mathare United at Mumias Sugar Sports Complex.

K’Ogalo coach Steve Polack told Nation Sport that they would be wary of All Stars but play with every intention of collecting maximum points.

“We are well prepared because this is a tough match and we cannot afford to underestimate All Stars. We do not want to take any chances in Kisumu,” he said.

Gor Mahia lie fourth on the league table with 25 points, three less than league leaders Tusker.

But with a superior goal difference of plus 17 compared to Tusker’s seven, any kind of a win will see the record Kenyan champions climb back to the top of the 18-team table.

Polack’s opposite Henry Omino was optimistic of pulling a surprise win against K’Ogalo citing enough preparation for the match.

“Our big brothers are smart and they have the experience but we are confident about winning the match. Yes, it will be a tough match and we have prepared for it accordingly,” said Omino.

Struggling Otenga’s players had on Thursday boycotted their training demanding to be paid their salaries running back several months.

Omino, however, noted that this had been sorted by the club management and the players resumed training on Friday.

K’Ogalo have played 10 matches, winning eight, drawing once and losing one match.

Kisumu All Stars on the other hand are sitting in position 16 on the log after 14 matches played with two wins, three draws and nine losses.

Inconsistent Leopards are lying seventh on the log with 22 points from five wins, seven draws and two losses.

Mathare are ninth on the table with 20 points. They have registered five wins, five draws and two losses from 12 matches thus far.
