The Nigerians netted a crucial away goal through Samuel Mathias but it could not prevent them from losing to K'Ogalo whose scorers were brace hero Samuel Onyango and Jacques Tuyisenge.

Taking the away goal as a positive, Ogbeide believes they can make amends at their backyard and register a 2-0 win to proceed to the group stage.

“The scoreline doesn’t matter to me, we’ve seen them now we go back home to look at where we went wrong, make corrections then something else can happen,” he said in a post-match interview.

“Loss of concentration from my defenders gifted them the goals but I believe this game is an eye-opener to the boys, they will want to redeem themselves at home,” he added.

“The aspiration of every team is to win the cup and we are not out yet. They are coming at home, with better attitude we can overturn this loss,” offered Ogbeide who partly blamed the natural grass at Kasarani for the loss.

He further drew inspiration from their improved display in the second half noting that they were more disciplined.

The aggregate winner of this encounter proceeds to the group stage due mid-January.
