Kenyan striker Masud to join Oman's Dhofar club

Kenyan international striker Masud Juma is set to join Oman Professional league champions Dhofar club, Nation Sport reveals.

The pacy forward left the country for the Arabian Peninsula nation on Thursday morning and is set to be unveiled on Friday.

Dhofar, who host their games at 12,000-seater Al-Saada Stadium, are the current champions and the most successful club in the country with 10 titles and eight domestic cups.

They top the 14-team standings with nine points after three rounds into the 2018/19 season.

“We always believed in his abilities and no doubt he was destined for another top club,” one of his agents said.

“The ball is now in his court to continue banging in goals and help his new club retain the league title.”


The 22-year-old bagged the Golden Boot with 17 goals in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) before joining South African side Cape Town City in January from Kariobangi Sharks.

Overall in that season, the former Bandari and Sony Sugar forward netted 24 goals in 31 appearances.

He has three goals in seven games for the national team, two of which propelled Harambee Stars to clinch their seventh Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup last year.

Former Kenyan international Jamal “Malo” Mohammed has previously captained another Oman side Al Nasr.
