Masuta Masita scored a late equaliser as Ulinzi Stars rescued a 1-1 draw against Bandari during a Kenya Premier league match at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa on Sunday.

William Wardi had put the home team ahead in first half, but with a minute remaining, Daniel Waweru kept a late attack alive and Masita rose to the occasion to nod home.

Bandari head coach Ken Odhiambo said they played well and was satisfied with the performance of his players.

“My players needed to be calm to be able to score more goals. We deserved to emerge victors but in football anything happens,” said Odhiambo.

Ulinzi Stars head coach Nyaudo Dunstan was pleased with the point against a tough opponent.

“We were to win the match but we missed three golden chances, but I’m satisfied with the draw result,” he said.
