Newly promoted Shabana FC will on Wednesday hold trials in bid to bolster their squad ahead of the 2018/19 National Super League (NSL) campaign which begins on December 1.

The trials will be held at Gusii Stadium starting 9am when the team resumes training session after a one-week break.

“We are looking forward to build our team with fresh talent. We are calling upon young players to turn up in large numbers," Shabana head coach Andrew Kanuli told Nation Sport on Tuesday.

Kanuli also confirmed attacking midfielder Dennis Ongeri, who spent last season on loan at the Kisii-based side, has returned to his parent club Posta Rangers.

The NSL will have 20 teams - Wazito and Thika United dropped from the SportPesa Premier League with Fortune Sacco, Eldoret Youth and Shabana gaining promotion from Division One.

Last week, Shabana edged out Mwatate FC 7-6 in a marathon post-match penalties shootout at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in the Division One promotion play-off after the two teams drew 1-1 in regulation time.
