NSL second leg action kicks off

After a three-week break, the National Super League resumes this weekend with nine fixtures on the cards as the second leg begins.

Leaders Western Stima visit Modern Coast Rangers at Mbaraki grounds on Sunday seeking to pick up from where they left in the first leg.

Stima, who were relegated to the second tier from the top flight last season, top the table standings with 36 points, one ahead of closest challengers Ushuru after 18 rounds.

“This is another marathon for us but it’s the one that will count in our chances of achieving promotion,” said Stima coach Richard Makumbi.

Kibera Black Stars coach Godfrey “Solo” Oduor said they’ve their eyes fixed on sealing a promotion slot.

“Any team in the NSL targets promotion and it is no different with us. We want to kick off the second leg with much caution, three points is what will aid our targets,” he told Nation Sport.

Promotion-chasing Nairobi Stima host City Stars in Naivasha.

Administration Police, Golden Field Evangelism and Nakuru AllStars are bottom of the 19-team log.
