On Wednesday, the caravan will snake through Roysambu, Zimmerman, Githurai, Jacaranda estate, Kahawa estate and Kasarani areas.

It was at Kawangware’s Kabiro primary school grounds that the caravan made a two-hour stop as fans thronged the venue to watch the friendly match.

The hosts drew the first blood after two minutes through Carlstrine Ikuza’s close range strike before Kevin Odongo equalised at the stroke of halftime in the11-a-side game that lasted 15 minutes each half.

A re-energised Nation scored two quick-fire goals through Joseph “Pogba” Wasike and Erick Khamala to give the journalists a 3-1 lead before Issa Hassan’s last-gasp strike reduced the deficit but wasn't enough to save them from defeat.

The team, which has visited Nation FC on several occasions for build up matches at their Railways training grounds, were rewarded with a set of uniforms by Nation Media Group’s Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Clifford Machoka.

“Part of the objective Kwese and NTV wanted to achieve is to tour different areas within Nairobi and alert them that every person can watch this year's edition of the World Cup for free on our platforms,” said Machoka.
