Nation FC now joins city’s Left Foot League

  • “We want to take it easy, start from the fifth tier and slowly make our way up,” Nation FC coach Mark Agutu said Thursday.
  • “The aim of our football team is basically to gel as staff and to help in team-building, networking and also meeting and engaging with our customers, advertisers and partners through the game of football, besides promoting the NMG brand,” added team manager Elias Makori.

Nation Media Group’s staff football team is among the new sides that have entered this year’s Left Foot Sports League.

Nation FC will play in Division Five in the Nairobi league which has also attracted other new teams including Ecobank, SportPesa Ltd, Allianz Insurance, Selecta One and Manarat FC.

Nation FC will play their debut match on April 8.

New boys Ecobank came from a goal down to beat Villareal 3-2 and mark a positive start in the Division Five opening round of matches last weekend.

The bankers had conceded first when Victor Muthama scored for Villareal but a quick response saw them grab goals courtesy of Majale Edmund, Joseph Orlando and an own goal to carry the day.
