Andrew Murunga and Ebrimma Sanneh stole the show in Sunday's thrilling two-all draw pitting Kariobangi Sharks and visiting Vihiga United in a Kenyan Premier League assignment at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Veteran forward Murunga scored twice in the second stanza to hand newly promoted Vihiga their first ever point in the top flight.

Murunga's first goal also doubled up as the opening strike of the game.

It came via an opportunistic header just after the restart which caught the Sharks defence napping.

His second was yet another strike that required quick thinking.

Formerly at Thika United, Tusker and KCB, the stocky Murunga reacted quickest in the wake of a defensive blunder by Sharks goalie Gad Matthews who lost possession after slipping on the dry turf at the Kenyatta Stadium

"He is a dependable player but hasn't yet attained full fitness. When he is fully fit, he will be among the top strikers in the league," Vihiga coach Edward Manoah said after the game.

In between, Gambian forward Ebrimma Sanneh, who's been drafted as replacement to the departed Masoud Juma nodded home Kariobangi Sharks opening goal, his second in this competition in as many games.
