Ng'ang'a rescues point for KCB

Dennis Ng'ang'a struck in the 90th minute to salvage a point for Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in their 1-1 draw against hosts Kisumu All Stars in a National Super League match at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu on Sunday.

Debutantes All Stars were headed to an important win courtesy of Samuel Ogolla's goal in the 80th minute, but a strong fightback by the former Kenyan Premier League side in the dying minutes saw the sides share the spoils.

Four minutes to the break, KCB were denied by the woodwork with Kenneth Mukuria rebound going wide.

With matters still levelled, both teams made early substitutions in the second half in an effort to take home all the three points.

All Stars coach Nick Aketch brought in Dennis Ochieng and Shadrack Ochieng for Calvince Omanga and Ian Samwel respectively, while KCB's John Kamau substituted Samuel Mwangi for Kenneth Mukuria.

Ogolla gave All Stars the lead ten minutes to the end with a long range shot following throw-in that was taken by Victor Ogola.

But KCB equalised through Ng'ang'a minute to stoppage time from a free kick on the edge of the All Stars box.

Coach Kamau praised his side for the draw saying that while it was not the result that they wanted, it was better than a loss, similar sentiments that were made by Aketch.
