Sharks survive Zoo attack to remain unbeaten

Kariobangi Sharks maintained their unbeaten start to the 2018/2019 SportPesa Premier League when they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Zoo Kericho at Kericho Green Stadium on Thurday.

Zoo forward Bernard Odhiambo broke the deadlock after 24 minutes after being played in by skipper Johnson Ligare but they could not hold onto the lead to bag a famous victory as Sharks equalised with four minutes remaining on the clock through Sven Yidah.

The Kericho-based has now gone five matches without a win, drawing the last four while Sharks is yet to taste defeat this season. The draw sees Zoo remain stationary at 15th position with seven points while Sharks climb to fourth with 14 points.

Sharks, who depart the country for Dar es Salaam on Saturday to take part in the SportPesa Cup, lined up John Oyemba in goal with George Abege leading the front line.

Zoo, who drew 1-1 with Kakamega Homeboyz last game, had Ugandan Martin Elung’at in between the sticks as Bernard Odhiambo and Kepha Ondati led the attack.

Sharks play Young Africans Tuesday next week in the opening game of the 2019 edition of SportPesa Cup.
