Five facts about former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr’s new home, South African Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards:

- Kerr becomes the first English coach at the club. The team has also previously been coached by former AFC Leopards Belgian coach Ivan Minnaert.

- The club, founded in 1983, returned to the country’s top flight (PSL) in the 2017/2018 season after eight seasons in the second tier, known as National First Division (NDF). Since 1998, the team is owned by the Thidiela family who also own a second division league side in the country called Basel FC.

- The team has no shirt sponsor, they’ve previously been sponsored by MTG Funerals, whose slogan is “A Place where the Soul rests in peace”, a company offering funeral and burial cover.

- They’ve never won the PSL title despite featuring nine times in the league, their best ever position was finishing eighth in the 2001/2002 season.

- They host their home matches at a 40,000-seater Thohoyandou Stadium and are currently 14th on the 16-team log with a paltry nine points from 11 matches. They’ve won just two games this season.
