Substitute Ezekiel Okare grabbed the winner as Sofapaka hit Tusker 2-1 to qualify for the semi-finals of the SportPesa Shield at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Sunday.

A bright start from both sides saw the game at 1-1 inside the first nine minutes. Jackson Macharia pounced on a lose ball to give the Brewers the lead, placing the ball beyond the outstretched Mathias Kigonya

However, their joy was short-lived as Batoto ba Mungu levelled matters through Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba, who headed a Kevin Kimani free kick into an empty net after Patrick Matasi had failed to gather the cross.

The stalemate would remain until 70 minutes, when the game's turning point arrived. Okare, who replaced the ineffective Pistone Mutamba, secured the winner from close range after being teed up by Kasumba.
