Thika Queens forward Mwanahalima Adam and Spedag’s Essie Akida have been tasked with leading Kenya’s quest to qualify for a successive Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana in November. 

The duo is among 26 players called up to the provisional Harambee Starlets squad for the ultimate qualifying contest versus Equatorial Guinea. 

The first of this two-leg tie is set for Machakos on June 6, with the return clash slated for Malabo three days later. The winning side will join hosts Ghana and six other national teams in securing qualification to the continental showpiece.

Mwanahalima and Akida are among the seasoned players in the set up, having featured consistently for the national side for the past three years.
