Victory for Sharks, their third in a row, sends them to fifth position with 30 points, six ahead of Posta after 19 rounds.

Sharks goalkeeper Jeff Oyemba stood out in the game producing outstanding saves to deny Dennis Mukaisi and Calvin Odongo in the second half.

"We tried everything to win the game, we were solid at the back but cracked in the final moments. I am however happy with the boys display today, we were just unlucky and have to keep focus heading into the next game against Gor Mahia, another tough team, " said Posta coach Sammy Omollo.

His Sharks counterpart William Muluya termed the win sweet hailing his substitutions that yielded fruit.

"This is a sweet win for us, we've never won against Posta in the league and the boys had the believe that they can do it. Whoever was going to either start or come in wanted to do it for the team," he said.

Posta handed a debut to new signing Paul Odhiambo in the second half as Jockins Atudo led the backline alongside Luke Ochieng, Suleiman Ngotho and Kennedy Onyango with Dennis Mukaisi starting upfront.
