Lucky Summer Warriors and Riverside Youth will battle in the final of the second edition of the Michael Olunga Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Babadogo Grounds from 3pm.

IPL and Roodney Strikers will face off in the third-place play off match at the same venue from 1pm. Lucky Summer beat IPL 1-0 in the first semi-final played on Thursday courtesy of brilliant strike by Brian Juma while Riverside Youth edged Roodney Strikers 5-4 on post match penalties after a barren draw in regulation time.

“The competition has been stiff in this year’s edition and we expect vey exciting games on the final day. The mission is to give the youth in this neighbourhood hope through football in this festive season,” Mariko Abwao, the tournament coordinator, said.

Olunga, a Kenyan international who plies his trade with Japanese second tier side Kashiwa Reysol, was born and raised in Lucky Summer, Nairobi and uses the tournament to give back to the community. He is expected to grace the final alongside many other Kenyan internationals and other dignitaries.

Winners are set to receive medals, cash, trophies among other prizes.
