  • For Origi, it was easy to make he decision to join Sandnes, his fifth club in a span of 10 years in the Scandinavian country.

Two months after terminating his contract with Norwegian top flight club Lillestroem SK, Kenyan international goalkeeper Arnold Origi has joined second tier outfit Sandnes ULF.

The 34-year-old signed a two-year deal with the side and made his debut in a 1-0 win over Levanger in the first match of the Norwegian First Division on Sunday.

Origi has been out of competitive action for over three months after unsuccessful trials with English Premier League (EPL) side Crystal Palace in January, followed by his exit from Lillestroem.

“Origi has a dream of playing in England and should something pop up, we’ve an oral agreement to show understanding, otherwise he will be with us until end of 2019,” Sandnes director Tom Rune Espedal was quoted on Norwegian portal, Aftenposten.

For Origi, it was easy to make the decision to join Sandnes, his fifth club in a span of 10 years in the Scandinavian country.

“I have been here (Norway) several times with Moss, Ull/Kisa and Lillestroem and have a good impression of Sandnes,” Origi said.

The former Mathare United and Tusker custodian added: “When Roger (Eskeland) approached me, I knew this is a good opportunity for me.”

Sandes, founded in 1911, play their home matches at a 4,969-capacity Sandnes Stadium in Rogaland, western Norway.
